How to use the flashcards:
- use each of the pictures cards by first looking at the pictures, talking about it and then pointing to the word on the card
- at first, choose three or four picture cards and as your child becomes more familiar with them, gradually introduce more pictures cards
- you may want to start your child thinking about the letter sound at the start of the word on the card, as this will help them with reading in the future
- as your child becomes more confident and shows an understanding of these words, you can use the reverse of the card, which shows the word only
N.B. remember that this should be an enjoyable activity for everyone |
