Résumé : |
Nowadays, everyone can observe that our cultural consumption practices increasingly follow the logic of diversity and format mixing (Letourneux, 2011). In other words, successful works can no longer be observed in a single format: books are turned into films, video games into books, films into video games, and so on. The Lord of the Rings, Mario, Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, Transformers, Assassin's Creed,... The examples of mixing formats are numerous, especially in the case of transfictional universes, universes that includes at least two texts that relate jointly to the same fiction. (Saint Gervais, 1996). This trend is particularly visible in the transfictional universes intended for young people, a category that includes children, preadolescents, adolescents but also young adults. (Letourneux, 2011) I believe that this diversity in formats is a superb opportunity for a teacher to seize. It allows a wide choice of media to work on the different skills that pupils must acquire during their school career which is, in my opinion, essential for the pupils to keep their motivation. |
